Hi I'm Dakota!
Welcome to my kitchen ♡
About Me
My love for cooking started young! My grandma was always serving up cajun deliciousness, personally baking the family's cakes and breakfasts, and showing me the ropes as a small child. (... While, of course, letting me snack the entire time we cooked!)
My skill for cooking, however, developed somewhat out of necessity. Growing up, my parents worked long hours, so I was often the one putting dinner on the table.
Then, when I moved out on my own, cooking became my way of connecting with people. Instead of grabbing fast food, I loved inviting friends over and experimenting in the kitchen. Sharing a meal which I made from scratch always felt special — and that passion grew into this blog. I love seeing faces light up when they try my creations! My Cooking Style
I’m drawn to cozy, comforting foods, but I also care about health and quality ingredients. You’ll find lots of:
Organic produce
Natural, non-processed sweeteners
Fresh, wholesome flavors
I'm also an Asian food aficionado. I can't get enough of Korean, Thai, Chinese, Japanese, Vietnamese and Indian cuisines!
Lastly, I love to recreate art, so expect a lot of gaming inspired dishes (see: Genshin Impact Fried Radish Balls)
Every recipe I share is tested at least three times before it makes it here. I revise, tweak, and taste until I feel it’s absolutely perfect — because I want to feel confident that you will love it when cooking it for your own home.
What You'll Find
On this blog, I share recipes for:
Breakfast, lunch, and dinner
Desserts
Breads
Sauces and condiments
Beverages
…basically everything you need to cook and share good food.
Dakota Delights Philosophy
Cooking should be fun, approachable, and never overly complicated!
Classic comfort foods deserve healthy ingredients. Never settle on tasty OR healthy.
Instructions are step by step and easy to follow so you feel confident in the kitchen. Cooking should be stress relieving, not stress inducing.
Ingredients are easy to find if not already in your pantry! Because when you're hungry, you should be fed easily.
